"Jakarta" Restaurant (New Belgrade, Studentski grad)

Pub-Restaurant "Tošin bunar" is opened two centuries ago, and got its name by Toša Apostolović, a merchant and the property owner. However, the restaurant also has another, non-aligned name - Jakarta.

It was favorite place for students from Indonesia, who lived in Studentski grad. During the Conference of The Non-Aligned Movement when Ahmed Sukarno, the first president of Indonesia visited Belgrade, he asked to see Studentski grad, a place where his compatriots learn. They took Sukarno to "Tošin bunar" and he was delighted so much, that kafana was called "Jakarta" because of him, which is a name still active and popular today.
